Fine old bowl by Herman Zaalberg
I (1880-1950). The stamp on the bottom dates this piece to 1918-1937. This would have been a very avant-garde piece for that era. The bubbling at the outer edges and on the bottom accentuates the pale gray glaze. The Dutch refer to this as a “lava”, or “crater”. The red body shows at the rim, with
finger marks from the wheel showing at the center. Marked: Studio stamp + 966
