Atelier Steenuil was founded in 1947 by
Henk Goosen (1924-1997). Most of his career was spent exploring the dynamic between heavy mottled gloss glazes and a solid matte glaze, usually blurring the transition in heavy encaustic foam.
Unmarked: The Dutch have a wonderful expression for a pot that is unmarked, but recognizable without doubt:
"It's marked all over".
