Atelier Steenuil was founded in 1947 by
Henk Goosen (1924-1997). Amazingly, De heer Goosen threw his pots using a foot kicked wheel. Most of his career was spent exploring the dynamic between heavy mottled gloss glazes and a solid matte glaze, usually blurring the transition in heavy encaustic foam.
