Outstanding Hannie Mein vase. Mein (1933-2003) was one of the few women working in ceramics in mid-century Holland. Her pots are often whimsical, with figurative designs. This piece is a fine example of controlled chaos. At a glance the brown and umber glaze pattern looks totally random. Closer examination reveals the skill in the application of glazes.
